Rapper 21 Savage bringing paintball wars to the streets?

By now many of you have heard the Crisis News Networks and Negative News Networks jumping all over this “paintball wars” story.  It wasn’t that long ago when another rapper brought paintball to the streets. His name was Eminem, and this time it was from the blockbuster movie 8 Mile. In the film, Eminem’s character does some drive by vandalism with a paintball gun.  The simple truth is, there is no such thing as negative press. The large majority of people that will see this “paintball wars” story, still have some common sense inside them. They understand that the place to play paintball is at a paintball field.

This is why as a paintball field owner or future paintball field owner you should be excited. If you own a paintball field, use this story in your marketing, explain why more parents need bring their kids to your field so they can enjoy paintball the right way,  and be less likely to do what they see on tv. You can even launch a bring a friend free promotion, simple things like this get people off the couch and playing paintball at your field.

For those that want to start a paintball business, this story will get the cities and counties on your side. This shows them that they need to approve your field to avoid this happening in their community. Similar to how Skate Parks got the thumbs up from cities and counties all over the U.S. in the last decade.

Now let’s take a deeper dive into what’s really going on. These “paintball wars” are an effect, not a cause. The cause is what needs to be treated, that will eliminate the effect. As you can imagine, the young men involved in these paintball wars have a non-existent or a strained relationship with their fathers.  The cause is lack of mentorship, “it’s much easier to empower young boys than to repair broken men!” – JuVan Langford.  This why I partner with a non-profit called The MENtour, they are empowering young boys in undeserved communities in Los Angeles and expanding world wide. Be a part of the solution! Join hands with The MENtour, start your own initiative or partner with another great organization. The world needs you to step up.
