What every field owner needs to know about P8ball Compressors

(1)What every field owner needs to know about P8ball Compressors
What every paintball field owner needs to know about paintball compressors. Today we are going to fully explain HPA/COMPRESSED AIR and Paintball Compressors so you can make the best decision on what package to get for your field.

We have over 25 years of experience starting successful paintball fields in the U.S. and around the world! YOU CAN TRUST THE WORLD LEADER IN PAINTBALL.

Compressed Air, HPA or High Pressure Air, NITRO or NITROGEN, Scuba tanks/Breathable air ARE ALL THE SAME THING when relating to paintball.

Now that we have all that out of the way it really isn't complicated at all. A paintball gun can not tell the difference between NITROGEN or breathable OXYGEN from a scuba tank. So to put your mind at ease, all the above terms are all the same thing. From now on we will call it HPA (HIGH PRESSURE AIR).

What is the real difference between HPA and Co2?

The difference between HPA and Co2 is like the difference between night and day. Co2 is a very volatile gas and highly unsafe. When you rapid fire the gun or when filling the tank you notice that it gets VERY cold. This causes tremendous challenges to the internals of you your gun because the o-rings go from hot to cold. Not to mention if it's too cold outside you can't even use Co2

With HPA the air only gets a little warmer when you rapid fire or fill the tank. This allows the gun to work much better in all temperatures. This why all or most the guns over $200 take HPA only. There was a time where only the $1,000 guns needed HPA but as paintball and technology have grown the guns have gotten faster and cheaper.

HPA tanks have also become very affordable so this is why the demand for HPA is growing so much. Co2 will be a thing of the past in the near future. Your field or store is only going to have a larger demand for HPA.

WHAT IS THE RIGHT SIZE PAINTBALL COMPRESSOR?

This is the most frequently asked question ( FAQ) that I hear. First off let me define COMPRESSOR. The compressors that are needed for paintball run at 5,000 psi or higher. The compressors you see at Home Depot run at 250 psi. The higher the pressure the more expensive the compressor becomes. The Money Air compressor line runs at 5,000 psi and higher.

The best way to explain how big of a compressor you need is the boat analogy. If you own a 25 foot boat and you want to tow it to the lake you CAN use a little 4 cylinder Toyota truck. You will have to go slow and you will be putting a lot of stress on the engine and the suspension but if it's only twice a year then no big deal. If you did it 2 times a week the truck would last about 2 to 4 months before it blew up.

SADLY this is what most field and store owners do when they buy their first compressor. They have limited funds or they want to save money and they buy a small compressor. 6 months later they blow it up because they worked it too hard.

Now if you had a V12 DODGE RAM with a towing package you could get that boat to the lake 4 times faster with less wear and tear on the truck. Which would allow the truck to last longer with fewer repairs.

When working with the Money Paintball team your field is only going to grow. Our Money Air brand compressor package # 3 may be too much for what you need now, but in 6 months you will discover that you have grown into it.

Hi Evan, I bought a Money Air compressor off you December 2012 which is working beautifully, since upgrading my facilities I have become the most successful paintball Field in New Zealand.

Kind regards from a happy customer:

WHICH PACKAGE DO YOU RECOMMEND?

Each package is designed for a specific need of a field or store, read the descriptions below and find out what is best for you.

SMALL STORE-

I define a small store as a Hobby level type enterprise, the owner is not looking to leave his location as does not want to expand to more stores or become the Paintball equivalent of Subway. This owner is happy with his clientele and just enjoys his little shop. For this type of operation the ALKIN ALL IN ONE or MINI MONEY is the way to go. No bulk tanks to fuss with no fill stations, just hook the tank to the compressor and away you go.

VERY SMALL FIELD-

Similar to the small store, this type of owner does not want to grow to accommodate hundreds of players at a time. He is happy with his 20 walkons and small private groups. The ALKIN ALL IN ONE or MINI MONEY AIR is the perfect system. No bulk tanks to fuss with no fill stations, just hook the tank to the compressor and away you go.

STORE-

I define a store as someone who is looking to grow his business, in the start up phase a ALKIN ALL IN ONE would be perfect, this package allows you to add bulk tanks as you grow. We would recommend the 4.9 CFM option as it will fill the bulk tanks much faster. As well we strongly recommend a FULLY AUTOMATED compressor, this is huge. This system turns itself on and off, it drains it self automatically. Will you remember to do that when the store is busy?

FIELD-

The Alkin automated packages are the way to go. Field owners need to focus on the customers not on their compressor, will your $10 an hour employee remember to drain the compressor? The Alkin 11.3 CFM model includes auto start, auto shut down and auto drains!

GROWING FIELD and or BIG FIELD-

If you plan on getting big or you are already big you know what it’s like to wait in line for air. Why make your customers wait, get them back on the field shooting paint and having fun. The Alkin 24 CFM paintball compressor is the unit for you. With its four 6,000 psi tanks and its 24 CFM power you can have 500 players fill and still have plenty of air. Now keep in mind if you have 150 people trying to use only 4 fill whips it will take a while, the bigger you are the more fill stations you will need. Don’t worry the ALKIN package can handle it. NEVER run out of air again. Click here for more info:

HOW MUCH MONEY CAN I MAKE FROM SELLING AIR?

Most fields charge $10 for all day air. If you have 100 players that day, that's $1,000 or $8,000 a month pure profit. Here is the key, most field owners do not separate this income. We recommend to keep a separate account for all the income you make from air for 6 months. Then add $2 a player from then on and keep this account for built up for maintenance/repairs or to buy the new Money Air Compressor you really want.

MORE FAQ’S-

EXPLAIN THE AUTODRAIN THING AGAIN-

If your compressor does not have auto drains like the ALKIN 12 CFM or MONEY AIR package #3 then you will have to drain them every 15 minutes the compressor is running. You simply turn a little valve wait 20-30 seconds for the oily water to drain and close the valve. Each compressor has two valves. Not a big deal but when your busy and you forget it causes damage to the compressor when they are not drained on time. For some this not a problem, for most it really becomes a big hassle.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO FILL A BULK TANK?

This question doesn't apply to the ALKIN or Money Air Paintball Compressor Packages because you will never run out of air or have to fill the tanks from empty.

The compressor will turn itself on automatically when the tanks get below 4,200 psi. You can adjust that psi to anything you want. The compressor will also turn it self off automatically too .

WHAT IS CFM or SCFM?

CFM or SCFM stands for STANDARD CUBIC FEET PER MINUTE. SCFM is like a cylinder in your car, the more cylinders you have the more power you have. For example:

4.9 CFM is like a 4 cylinder car.

8.9 SCFM is like a 6 cylinder car.

11 CFM is like an 8 cylinder car

24 CFM is like a SEMI TRUCK

CAN I FILL A SCUBA TANK?

THE ALKIN or MINI MONEY AIR is set to fill scuba tanks or regular paintball tanks that you put on your gun. The Alkin or MONEY AIR PACKAGE # 2 and # 3 can be set up to fill scuba tanks with a small add on adaptor to the fill station for a small fee.

CAN I TAKE THE FILLED BULK TANKS AND FILL STATION WITH ME AND LEAVE THE COMPRESSOR AT MY STORE?

Sure we add the on/off check valves for no charge!

HOW MANY FILLS CAN I DO PER BULK TANK? This can be a long answer because of all the variables, like what size of tanks you are filling, 48ci, 68ci, 88ci as well as how empty the tanks are. Typically people like to fill up when they get down to 1,500 or 1,000 psi. Secondly when you purchase a ALKIN or Money Air package #2,#3 or #4 with cascaded bulk tanks this question does not apply because all the cascaded tanks act as one big tank. However to give you a basic idea, if you had a 6,000 psi bulk tank you could fill 20 to 25 empty 68ci 3,000 psi tanks before the pressure dropped to 3,000psi in the bulk tank.

HOW MANY FILLS CAN I DO PER SCUBA TANK?

This can be a long answer because of all the variables, like what size of tanks you are filling, 48ci, 68ci, 88ci as well as how empty the tanks are. You could fill your tanks when they get to Zero or when they get to 1,000 psi.

The HPA tank that is on the gun is just like a gas tank in a car. It does not matter if the tank has 300 psi or 3000 psi, the gun will shoot the same. A typical scuba tank is 3,000 psi, so after the first fill you can only fill the tank from the gun to 2950 and then the next fill would be lower 2900 and then 2850 etc.

You should be able to get 50 fills per scuba tank with your 48 ci tanks. You final fill would only be about 500 psi which would be enough for 100 shots.

HOW LOUD ARE THE COMPRESSORS?

The ALKIN or Money Air #2, #3 and Mini Money Air run approx 80 dB at 9' away. To compare a dishwasher runs 75 dB standing next to it. Our fully enclosed paintball compressor, the Money Air Monster is even quieter.

MONEY AIR PAINTBALL COMPRESSORS ARE THE MOST "PAIN FREE" COMPRESSORS ON THE MARKET GUARANTEED!
